The 3 Biggest Mistakes to Avoid If You Want to Attract High-Ticket Clients Without Burning Out
July 21, 2025
If you're ready to attract high-ticket clients—but you're exhausted, overgiving, or constantly second-guessing your pricing—this is for you.
As a business coach and energy healer, I see high-achieving women sabotage their next-level growth without even realizing it. They’re stuck in hustle mode, pushing harder, trying to “figure it out”—when in reality, they’re making simple mistakes or their energy is misaligned with the results they say they want.
Let’s break down the top 3 mistakes that repel premium clients—and the energetic shift that unlocks your next-level revenue.
Mistake #1: Pricing yourself for broke people.
Plenty of people will say they “can’t afford” to work with you. But if you're always lowering your prices to match their scarcity mindset, you're ignoring the folks who want the high-touch, elite, top-shelf version of you.
Remember, the transformation is in the transaction.
I learned this the hard way. Every time I discounted my services, it was like saying, “Would you like 20% less healing today?”
Next time you’re pricing yourself, consider the folks who want luxury, the VIP upgrade, and the best you got. They have the money, and they don’t want the basic level of anything. Don’t sell them short.
Your aligned clients expect to pay for premium. They aren’t shopping for “basic.” In fact, they’re the kind of people who say “yes” to the guac—and the VIP upgrade.
So instead of discounting to the point of resentment, here are 3 smart ways to use incentives without compromising your value:
- Raise the price to $2,500 and offer $500 off for the first X number of buyers. (Tip: set X to the number that covers your baseline cost.)
- Keep the price at $2,000 and offer fast-action bonuses—like access to a course or bundle that feels like a valuable freebie.
- Add a VIP upgrade—offer limited spots for 1:1 access at $500–$1,000 more. These often sell quickly because people want personalized support.
Mistake #2: Overcomplicating the process.
If you want to make high-ticket sales, you need to make it easy for people to buy. Consider your sales process and how long it takes a cold lead to turn into a hot buyer.
One of my coaching clients, a travel agent, was getting tons of leads but no bookings. When I tuned into the energy of her business, it was obvious: she had zero follow-up systems.
Here’s what we fixed—these apply to any service-based business:
- Collect contact info: Don't rely on email alone. Add phone numbers so you can send a quick follow-up text.
- Streamline decisions: Offer pre-designed packages or crowd-pleasing services so people don’t feel overwhelmed by too many choices.
- Set up a simple follow-up sequence: Nurture your leads through email (and text!) with examples of your best results and top recommendations.
High-ticket buyers don’t need more convincing—they need clarity, ease, and momentum.
While you might not be a travel agency, you can implement some of this simple contact collection and follow up into your own business.
Mistake #3: Not asking why they didn’t buy.
Most entrepreneurs avoid this question like the plague:
“Can I ask—what made you decide not to move forward?”
Yes, it’s vulnerable. But this one question will give you the insights you need to:
- Clarify your messaging
- Identify real objections (not the ones you’re assuming)
- Create future offers (including downsells, upsells, or waitlists)
- Build genuine relationships that can convert later
I always follow up with a voice memo or personal message. Even if someone says no, they’re still a potential future client—just not yet.
Case in point:
- A past client said she loved my new program but the timing was off. When I relaunched it a few months later, I sent her a voice message—and she joined instantly.
- Another client declined a group program… but hired me for private coaching instead. Same person, different path.
And in one recent case, a client wasn’t ready to start for a few months. So I offered her a way to lock in her spot and receive a bonus mini-session before the official start date. No discount needed—just aligned, flexible support. She was thrilled.
BONUS Mistake: Skipping Energy Alignment Before You Sell
While all of these strategies will absolutely help grow your sales, the #1 mistake high-achievers and entrepreneurs make is to not get into energetic alignment with their most successful future self before making the offer, writing emails, or having sales conversations.
If you’re human, the sales process can feel draining, tedious, and riddled with rejection. This will surely take a toll on your energy. The next thing you know, your energy is saying “I’m scared people aren’t buying and burnt out.”
Before you do another thing in your sales process simply ask yourself:
“Am I energetically aligned with my most abundant, successful, badass self?”
If the answer is no, pause and get into alignment. I’ve created The CEO Sanctuary Series for just this occasion. Link at the bottom of this article!
