How Mufaro Nyachoto Built Nyac Consulting to Connect Business Analysis with Coaching for Healthcare and Higher Education
May 7, 2026
Meet Mufaro Nyachoto, founder of Nyac Consulting, a strategic advisory and coaching practice that combines her love of organizations, business analysis, and project leadership with a focus on industries she believes have a direct impact on people's lives, healthcare and higher education. As a coach, Mufaro also helps individual clients build a life that fits their values.
What gives Mufaro's practice its distinct shape is the dual lens. After years as a contractor in healthcare and information services, she watched companies push more talent through third-party vendors and saw firsthand how that affected rates, autonomy, and the kind of work she could do. Nyac Consulting is her answer: a practice where she gets to do the consulting she loves and coach others through the same kind of transitions she has navigated herself.
Please share a brief introduction and your business:
I love to connect the dots and learn. My business is Nyac Consulting LLC. In business I connect my love of organizations, business analysis, and project leadership to serving organizations which I believe have a direct impact on people's lives - healthcare and higher education. As a coach I help people build a life that fits their values.
Take us back to when you launched. What was your marketing strategy?
My marketing strategy was to tell my network. I got a lot of congratulations but it did not lead to warm leads or introductions.
Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
No. I was fascinated by the idea but did not have a circle of people interested in entrepreneurship.
Do you have a co-founder?
No
Are you a mamaprenista?
No
What accomplishments are you the most proud of to date in your business?
I have met amazing founders and I am still striving for my dreams.
What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?
How welcoming and active the community is.
When hiring, what is your go-to interview question?
What's your favorite color? What are you most proud of?
What did you do before starting your own business?
I was a contractor in the Healthcare and Information Services spaces.
What made you take the leap to start your own business?
I love what I do. I wanted more time freedom and as a W2-based contractor you give away a percentage off the top with every contract. Prior it was easier to command your desired rate. Companies have pivoted to hiring contractors through third-party vendors to release their liability.
Do you have any recent wins?
I also am a business coach and I had a client transform her mindset, launch an offer, and begin living a life more aligned with her values.
What's one app on your phone that you cannot live without?
Calendar
Who are your customers?
IT PMO directors who are responsible for successful project delivery facing stalled initiatives and IT rework. (Consulting) W2 contractors seeking financial stability and time freedom.
What's your top productivity tip?
I have a physical planner and it helps me to see things written in my own handwriting
What's your favorite business tool?
Notes. I like to jot down my thoughts
What's your approach to work-life balance?
I make sure the most important things in business and self-care are prioritized
How do you avoid burn-out?
Schedule exercise and honor that time for myself
What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenistas?
Reach out to people to see what they are doing. If you have questions ask them because there is so much knowledge in the community.
What's next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
Change. Over the next few years I will incorporate more coaching into my offers.
Mufaro's story is a reminder that founders who pivot from contracting to consulting often do so not because they were unhappy with the work, but because they want their time back, and that the discipline that made them strong contractors is exactly what positions them to build something of their own. We are so glad to have her in the Entreprenista community and cannot wait to watch Nyac Consulting continue to grow.
