Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business
I’m Molly McCartan, Founder and CEO of The Mom Pact, a private professional network designed to advance working mothers. Our platform combines strategic career resources, leadership tools, and a vetted community to close the support gap for moms and position them for long-term success.
Who are your customers?
Ambitious mothers who want a meaningful network that actually moves the needle in their careers. They are seeking strategy, resources, and connections that drive real results.
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
I spent more than a decade in corporate strategy, business development, and M&A, leading growth initiatives and scaling companies across industries.
What made you take the leap to start your own business?
The data is clear that working mothers are under-supported, and the statistics show little progress. I launched The Mom Pact to create the structure and resources that did not exist and to build a professional network designed for moms.
Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
Yes. I have always been wired to build, lead, and create solutions where there are gaps. Entrepreneurship was the path that allowed me to do all three.
Take us back to when you first launched your business; what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
I led with storytelling, authenticity, and direct outreach to my network. Not everything went as planned, but every pivot sharpened the brand and clarified the message.
What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?
The biggest challenge has been balancing speed with sustainability. I have learned that intentional growth and clarity of mission create stronger foundations than scaling quickly.
What accomplishment are the most proud of to date in your business?
Launching The Mom Pact and proving that working mothers want and need a professional community built exclusively for them.
Do you have any recent wins from the last year that you'd like to celebrate with our community?
Yes. We launched The Mom Pact platform, welcomed our founding members, and built partnerships that validate the demand for a professional network dedicated to working mothers.
What's next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
We are scaling memberships, forging corporate partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and beyond, and expanding into workshops and consulting. The long-term vision is to make The Mom Pact the go-to platform for every working mother who wants to thrive in her career.
What is your top productivity tip?
Prioritize one needle-moving task each day and complete it first. It builds momentum and prevents busywork from taking over.
On the flip side, how do you avoid burnout?
I set boundaries, protect my energy, and lean on systems that keep both business and personal life organized.
What is your approach to work-life balance / integration?
I focus on integration instead of balance. Every day I move the business forward and show up for my family. It is about clear priorities, disciplined execution, and showing women that you can be both a successful leader and a present mom.
What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?
That growth is rarely linear. The setbacks, pivots, and messy middle are often where the most important progress happens.
When hiring, what is your go-to interview question?
“Tell me about a time you solved a problem without being asked to.” It reveals initiative and ownership. Hire for values and mindset first. Skills can be taught, but alignment and drive cannot.
Are you a Mamaprenista? If so, please share your best advice for simultaneously managing a business and a family
Yes. My advice is to embrace structure but release perfection. Your kids are watching you build, and that lesson is powerful in itself.
Do you have a co-founder? If so, how did you find the right one for you and what are your best partnership tips?
I am a solo founder, but I surround myself with strategic partners who bring expertise and perspective. Collaboration is key.
What's the one app on your phone you absolutely cannot live without and why?
Gmail. It keeps me connected, organized, and able to run my business from anywhere.
What is your favorite business tool or solution and why?
HubSpot. It gives me the visibility I need to manage relationships, track growth, and keep everything streamlined in one place.
What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenistas?
Start before you are ready. Take imperfect action, keep learning, and build the support system that will carry you forward.
