Kristen Jordan of Kirsten Jordan Consulting on Marketing Clarity for Female Founders

March 1, 2026

Kirsten Jordan is the founder of Kirsten Jordan Consulting, where she works as a marketing coach and fractional CMO for female founders. With more than 20 years of experience across marketing strategy, brand storytelling, website user experience, messaging, email marketing, and community building, Kirsten believes most founders do not need more tactics. They need clarity.

Through coaching and consulting, she helps women cut through the overwhelm, refine what truly works for their businesses, and build marketing strategies that feel aligned, creative, and revenue generating.

Please share a brief introduction and your business:

I'm a marketing coach and fractional CMO for female founders. After more than 20 years working across marketing strategy, brand storytelling, website user experience, content planning, messaging, email marketing, customer journey design, and community building, I have seen the same pattern: most people do not need more tactics. They need clarity around what would work best for their businesses.

Are you a mamaprenista?

Block off your calendar for family commitments. I want to be there for my kids. It's important to me that they see me at the end of the day and that I put down work.

Take us back to when you launched? What was your marketing strategy?

I've gone through a number of iterations of my business over the years as I've refined what I do and offer. Even as a marketing person I've made mistakes!

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

No, it was something that I fell into after having my 2nd child. When I gave birth to my son 7 years ago, I created a website to help women in my community find out about things they could do while on maternity leave. It was called Mat Leave Map. This introduced me to the world of female entrepreneurship and I wanted to find a way to combine my love of marketing, community and supporting other women.

What accomplishments are you the most proud of to date in your business?

I think one of the biggest accomplishments for me is seeing how I've helped others achieve success in their businesses. I do what I do because I want other female founders to live the life they dream of. Marketing strategies and tactics that we work on together help them generate revenue which in turn allows them to grow their business.

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?

How amazing and supportive this community is

When hiring, what is your go-to interview question?

What makes a great day for you?

What did you do before starting your own business?

I have always worked in marketing, but in a variety of industries.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

One of the main reasons why I do what I do is this:

I know what it feels like to pour your energy into your business and still wonder if your marketing is working. I want marketing to feel less overwhelming and fun for the clients I work with, either through coaching or consulting work.

Do you have any recent wins?

I recently threw out my entire email list to start from scratch (never be scared to start again if what you have doesn't feel like you!). While my subscriber base is still small I now have a monthly newsletter that allows me to be creative and play. And at the same time help small business owners, creatives and solopreneurs create marketing that feels more human, creative, and connected.

What's one app on your phone that you cannot live without?

My husband says Instagram. I say GoodReads because I love to track my reading habit!

Who are your customers?

Female founders

What's your top productivity tip?

To take the time to make and eat breakfast. I do this every day before starting work, pop on a podcast. The result? It's time for me each day and makes me feel more energized.

What's your favorite business tool?

Flodesk for emails!

What's your approach to work-life balance?

I don't believe in work/life balance. Life ebbs and flows. It is more about paying attention to what I said above to make sure I'm not putting too much on my plate.

How do you avoid burn-out?

I really look strategically each week at my calendar. I also believe in micro to-dos. For example, I'll clean out one drawer vs. tackling the whole closet.
