Janet Diaz Built Soulcraft Journeys for Women Who Lead

For more than 25 years, Janet Diaz helped people navigate change inside some of the largest technology companies in the world, most recently at Apple. She was good at it. What she learned along the way was quieter and harder to say out loud. Because organizations pour resources into managing change at work, individuals are usually left to navigate their biggest transitions on their own. Her own burnout made the lesson personal.

Janet Diaz is the co-founder of Soulcraft Journeys, a company she built with her sister, Ivette Diaz, to give professional women a place to step away and reconnect with themselves. They design transformational retreats and travel experiences for women who have spent years leading, achieving, and caring for everyone else. A member of The Entreprenista League, Janet self-funded the business alongside Ivette and treats every detail with intention. The company grew out of something she lived.

“Success means very little if it comes at the expense of your well-being,” Janet says. Her career guiding organizational change became a business built to restore the women inside it.

The lesson corporate change management taught her

Janet spent more than 25 years leading organizational change and transformation in the technology industry, helping teams adopt new ways of working and steady themselves through uncertainty. Over time, she noticed a pattern: Companies invest heavily in guiding people through change at work, yet the same people were left alone to handle the largest transitions in their lives.

Then the pattern found her. Years of chronic stress and significant health challenges became a turning point she could not ignore. “I could no longer ignore the impact that years of chronic stress and constant demands had taken on my health and well-being,” she says.

A business built with her sister

Janet co-founded Soulcraft Journeys with Ivette. Being sisters is the foundation, but Janet credits the partnership to a shared vision and complementary strengths. She brings decades of leadership and change work. Ivette designs the travel itself, curating journeys so guests can relax into the experience instead of managing logistics.

Her advice on co-founder relationships is specific: Establish trust early, communicate openly, and define each person’s strengths and decision-making from the start. “A great partnership is not about agreeing on everything,” she says. “It’s about respecting each other’s strengths, challenging each other thoughtfully, and knowing that you are working toward the same goal.”

Who she built it for

Soulcraft Journeys serves professional women who have spent years caring for their careers, families, teams, and communities, and realize they lost touch with themselves in the process. Many arrive in the middle of a transition: burnout, a career change, menopause, an empty nest, caregiving, grief, or a quiet longing for something more meaningful.

Corporate life taught Janet to define the strategy and map the path before making a move. Entrepreneurship demands a different approach. “Clarity comes through action, not before it,” she says. She has learned she doesn't need every answer to begin, only to stay connected to her purpose, listen to the women she serves, and take the next right step.
