Building Authentic Leaders Through Bespoke Coaching at Primrose

Please share a brief introduction and your business:

After 25 years in the corporate world, I just had to take a chance on myself. I started Primrose Leadership Solutions so that we could bring an opportunity for more authentic leadership to a broader audience.

Primrose focuses on creating bespoke leadership development experiences (not training classes!) that have a coach approach infused throughout.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

NO! Approximately 45 days before I decided to start Primrose Leadership Solutions, I told my personal trainer I had "no entrepreneurial spirit".... something she reminds me of constantly when I talk about how happy I am on this path.

Are you a mamaprenista?

Outsource what you can! You don't need to be a Founder and the world's best house cleaner or grocery shopper. I promise there are a lot of people better than you at those things!

Take us back to when you launched? What was your marketing strategy?

I received great advice to "map my network" early on. I sat down and categorized everyone in my text threads and LinkedIn. Friends received a text message video explaining what I was doing, Friendleagues (former colleagues who I consider friends) received a series of emails and LinkedIn messages referencing our past successes and asking for their support, and the third group, "People With Checkbooks" received emails and LinkedIn messages sharing the business launch, the way Primrose could meet their needs and direct asks for time to connect. This was the right mix of activity to drive engagement early on. 

What accomplishments are you the most proud of to date in your business?

That I'm here... thriving (and still paying the mortgage). And that my daughter is watching it all happen. I am a better parent now that I have my own business.

My network came through HUGE for my business in this first year. Which is a great reminder that I have built amazing relationships during my life.

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?

I feel like I'm just starting... so I'm currently working on a plan to make Entrepenista "pay for itself' but this might not be measured in bank deposits. New connections, ideation, and a broader network will all factor into my calculus.

When hiring, what is your go-to interview question?

We believe that you hire for cultural addition, not cultural fit. What will you add to our culture?

What did you go before starting your own business?

My BS in Apparel Merchandising naturally led to a career in leadership and talent development. Totally normal career path, right?

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

I was pushed! And it's been all relief, no grief ever since!

Do you have any recent wins?

In Q4 2025, I have landed 2 new clients that were not already part of my network and have just put together a proposal for a new, exciting client in 2026. Fingers crossed! The momentum around the business has been very exciting!

What's one app on your phone that you cannot live without?

The podcast app! I need true crime, Pod Save America, and the Smartless guys in my ears...

Who are your customers?

Our customers range from startups that are starting to build their momentum to global organizations in the swirl of transformation. We work with organizations that want to invest in great leaders, no matter their size.

What's your top productivity tip?

For those items that don't have defined deadlines, knock them out when you feel the motivation. This means you might write your next 10 blog posts on a Sunday morning at 7 am. DO IT THEN!

Also, get a friend to work with you at a coffee shop occasionally- something you couldn't do when you were in that old job!

What's your favorite business tool?

A good old fashioned white board and great dry erase markers.

How do you avoid burn-out?

I don't work on Fridays.

What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenistas?

Know what you're good at and do it with authenticity.
