Do you rely on Meta advertising to keep your business growing? If so, it might be time to take a closer look at how you’re covering the bill. A few business card providers now offer elevated rewards on advertising purchases. That means every time you spend on Meta to drive traffic, awareness, and sales, you could also be earning cash back or points that help offset your costs. But which cards are best for frequent advertisers? Here are three that can help your Meta budget stretch further.
Entreprenista Picks: 3 Best Cards for Meta Ads
These three cards can help you earn rewards as you advertise across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, or all of the above.
1. American Express® Business Gold Card
The American Express Business Gold Card can be one of the best options for Entreprenistas who regularly advertise through Meta. It offers 4x Membership Rewards® on up to $150,000 in spending per calendar year in the two categories where you spend the most each billing cycle (out of six options). One of the six categories is “purchases with U.S. media providers for advertising online, on TV, and on the radio,” which encompasses spending on Meta ads.
As long as you make sure your total ad spend is higher than your spending in at least four of the other categories each billing cycle, you’ll earn 4x points on it. You can then redeem points for up to $0.01 each. Please note, the value you receive will depend on the redemption method you choose. In total, you can earn up to 600,000 points per year from Meta ads purchases at the 4x point rate, which can be worth up to $6,000 in redemptions. After that, you’ll earn points at a 1x rate until the start of the next year.
Rewards aside, the American Express Business Gold Card does have a $375 annual fee. For the card to be worth it overall, you’ll need to take advantage of its perks and benefits, which include up to $395 in annual value.*
Best for: Entreprenistas who spend regularly on advertising, flights, hotels, FedEx, GrubHub, office supplies, and a Walmart+ membership.

2. Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business Credit Card
The Sapphire Reserve for Business can be another good option for Entreprenistas who regularly run Meta ads. While it’s primarily a premier travel card, it offers 3x points on social media and search engine advertising. That means for every $1,000 you spend with Meta ads, you can earn 3,000 points, equivalent to $30 when redeemed as cash, gift cards, or travel. Not bad, but this card does have a $795 annual fee. For it to be worth it overall, you’ll need to take advantage of the card's various perks, which include over $2,500 in annual value from travel and business benefits.
Best for: Jet-setting Entreprenistas who spend regularly on social media and search engine advertising, along with frequent travel, DoorDash, Google Workspace, ZipRecruiter, and Lyft.
3. Chase Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card
If you’re not ready to invest in a business credit card with an annual fee, you can also opt for a no-annual-fee card with decent rewards on all purchases. For example, the Ink Business Unlimited Credit Card offers unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases. That means you’ll earn 1.5% cash back on all your Meta ad purchases and any other eligible business purchases you put on the card. Going this route, you won’t have to worry about ensuring you get your money’s worth since there’s no annual fee. The catch? The rewards rate is lower, and there are fewer perks.
Best for: Entreprenistas who want to earn rewards on all their business purchases (including Meta advertising), without committing to an annual fee.

FAQs About Meta Ads and Credit Cards
Still have questions? Read on for some quick Q&As about paying for Meta ads with rewards credit cards.
Can I pay for Meta ads with any credit card?
In most cases, yes! Meta accepts credit cards from all the major card networks, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
When will Meta charge your card for ads?
Meta automatically charges your card for ads when your ad costs hit your payment threshold. Any leftover costs are charged on your monthly bill date. However, if you don’t hit your payment threshold, you’ll just be charged on your monthly bill date.
Do Meta ad purchases count as “advertising” for credit card rewards?
Meta ad purchases do typically fall under the “advertising” category with credit card companies, but it’s smart to confirm before opening a card for that purpose. Additionally, check your rewards balance after your first billing cycle closes to ensure you’re earning as expected.
Which card gives the most rewards for Meta ad spending?
The American Express Business Gold Card offers the highest rewards rate on advertising spend (4x points). However, the 4x points are capped at $150,000 in spending per year, after which you earn 1x points for the rest of the year. The Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business offers a lower 3x points rate on advertising, but has no limit. Once you hit about $225,000 in annual advertising spending, the Chase Sapphire Reserve will earn you more.
Do I need a business credit card to pay for Meta ads?
You don’t need a business credit card to pay for Meta ads. Meta allows you to use a personal credit card, among other payment methods. However, a business credit card is typically better for tracking business expenses, earning rewards on advertising, and keeping personal and business finances separate.
