“A lot of people are worried if AI is going to take over. Don't be worried about AI taking over. You should be worried you're in competition with people using AI better than you.”
For many founders, entrepreneurship starts with one simple realization: freedom matters more than following someone else’s rules. The desire for flexibility, ownership, and financial independence often becomes the driving force behind building something of your own.
Danielle Canty is a former brick and mortar business owner turned successful online entrepreneur. Danielle has now transitioned into the digital space to pursue her passion for empowering others and building a business that could lead to freedom of time. Known for her strategic mindset and dedication, she focuses on creating opportunities for women to achieve financial freedom and personal growth through innovative online platforms. Before exiting the company in 2023, she had built Bossbabe to a platform with over 3.5 million followers on social media, generating millions of dollars in revenue each year. Now, Danielle helps women founders reach that seven figure mark through her platform MemberUp and her community The Two Percent. Tune in and hear all about the pivotal moment that inspired Danielle's entrepreneurial journey, her transition from a chiropractic practice to an online business, and the importance of choosing a business model that aligns with your lifestyle.
In this Entreprenista Podcast, Danielle Canty shares her journey from building BossBabe into a multi-million-dollar brand to launching MemberUp, a platform designed to help founders create thriving membership communities and scalable online businesses.

Here are a few moments from the podcast:
Danielle explains why she never related to the stereotypical “born entrepreneur” story and what actually pushed her toward entrepreneurship.
“I didn't even think I knew what an entrepreneur was... what I was doing was working really hard so I was the kid who had like three jobs... I didn't really resonate with the term entrepreneur until I was in my mid-20s... but I resonated with the hard work and determination that it takes to become an entrepreneur... I got to a point in my life where it was like hang on a minute I'm done trading time for money... I'm done being told what I can and cannot do anymore... and so the pursuit of my own freedom is what led me to be an entrepreneur.”
She shares the statistics that inspired her to launch The Two Percent and focus on helping more women scale their businesses.
“Only two percent of women's businesses get to seven figures are you kidding me that is not because we're not smart... and so I started really investigating like why was that and how can we take back some of that power um and how can we kind of overcome some of the environmental biases and factors that are against us.”
Danielle explains how her experience scaling BossBabe led her to create MemberUp.
“I got really passionate about teaching memberships... and then alongside that started building a sas company called member up which is kind of like Kajabi and facebook groups had a baby because we kind of realized that you know a lot of Kajabi teachable all of those things they were founded when community wasn't a big thing and now community really is the route to building and scaling businesses and getting strong advocates.”
She also shares the insight that shaped MemberUp’s brand positioning for women entrepreneurs.
“We also wanted to make it beautiful because I had first-hand experience realizing that how come the guys can get a 60 conversion rate on these ugly ass sales right... and then boss babe ours always had to be beautiful... and so we realized that actually member up's kind of like apple was to microsoft we're trying to be like that beautiful cousin that cares about branding that cares about how things look because women like aesthetics.”
Danielle opens up about one of the biggest mistakes founders make when trying to scale.
“Leadership and delegation it really is... honestly if you are trying to build a business you have to build a team otherwise... you get in a trap where you really just have a glorified job and that's not sellable it's not going to build a valuation ultimately you're going to burn out.”
She also explains what entrepreneurship ultimately means to her after building multiple successful businesses.
“It means freedom, it means choice, it means being able to say what I do when I do it and how I do it and also empowerment for the change... women building businesses to me that's always going to make the world a better place.”
